|Description:||The 407 East Construction General Partnership have been awarded the contract to design, build, finance and maintain Highway 407 East Phase 1. The project includes 11 interchanges, including 2 freeway to freeway, realignment of Lakeridge Road; 20.3 KM of new built 407 East main line; 5 KM re-aligned 401; 10 KM of new built West Durham Link; 100 structures (23 culverts or arches/boxes, 77 bridge structures.); 175 ha of ecological restoration, including habitat creation for 5 identified, endangered species; 8.8 KM of stream, realignment/restoration; a large archeological program, habitation of a number of contaminated sites; and a large landscaping program. |
|Duties:||•Responsible to lead a survey crew on a daily basis, ensuring adherence to all site procedures and policies.|
•May be required to train crew members in various survey methods and use of equipment.
•Collaborate with survey manager and members of the construction management team in scheduling surveying requirements.
•Gathering field survey data for quantity surveying requirements.
•Confirming the accuracy of various aspects of the works related to the project.
•Layout or staking of the works as it relates to highway construction.
•Preparation of field notes and sketches associated with survey pick-up required by the office data processors.
•Setting controls for site referencing.
•Research construction design drawings to ascertain information required to support survey work.
•Maintain field data records and survey project files.
•Other survey related duties as assigned.
|Qualifications:||•Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in leading a survey crew.|
•Must have 1-2 years experience in highway construction surveying.
•Must be responsible, reliable and able to lead a small crew on a daily basis.
•Must have good communication skills and be a team player.
•Must be familiar with highway construction plans/drawings.
•Must be capable of operating total stations, levels (digital and automatic), GPS equipment and other tools generally used in a construction surveying operation, including the downloading of survey data.
•Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and a good driving record.
•Formal education in survey engineering or related courses is an asset but not required.
